Diagnostic Findings

Upon inspection, the unit was found to be unresponsive with no communication via the BMS interface. Internal testing revealed:

  • Fault: Total failure of the Battery Management System (BMS) board.
  • Specific Damage: The BMS Main Control Chip and the Internal Power Supply circuitry were electrically compromised (blown).
  • Primary Cause: System Overload. The battery was subjected to a current draw exceeding its rated discharge capacity, leading to thermal stress and component failure on the control board.

Resolution & Technical Work

To restore the unit to full operational safety and performance, a component-level repair was bypassed in favor of a complete board replacement to ensure long-term reliability.

  • Solution: Full replacement of the BMS module.
  • Procedure: 1. Safe isolation of the Lithium cell modules. 2. Removal of the damaged SS-4074 control interface. 3. Installation of a new, calibrated BMS. 4. Firmware synchronization and capacity testing.

To prevent a recurrence of this fault, ensure that the inverter’s Max Discharge Current settings are strictly aligned with the Solar MD’s specifications. If high-surge appliances are being used, consider expanding the battery bank to share the load.
